Founded in 2003 by Ralph Gilbert and Chris Goodman, Focus Group provides digital workplace solutions to approximately 30,000 SME customers, and has revenues in excess of £250 million and over 900 staff. The company offers a single point of contact for the information technology needs of its clients, providing communications and software solutions, connectivity and value-added IT services.
Since Bowmark invested in Focus Group in 2020, the company has more than trebled its revenues, significantly expanded its range of technology solutions, and broadened its coverage across the UK. This has been driven by double-digit organic growth, and the completion of 21 acquisitions to support the company’s product and geographic expansion.
Focus Group’s co-founder Chris Goodman said: “We have an incredible team at Focus and this investment is a further endorsement of our strategy. Bowmark has been a great partner in helping us to capitalise on the company’s multiple growth opportunities over the last four years and we now are well placed to continue the next phase of the company’s development.”
Ralph Gilbert, Focus Group’s co-founder, added: “We’ve really enjoyed working with Bowmark to accelerate our M&A programme, build out our capabilities and establish Focus as a leader in the sector.”
Bowmark Partner Tom Shelford commented: “We invested in Focus Group in 2020 due to its exceptional record of growth and service excellence, and its outstanding management team. Since then the company has delivered industry-leading organic growth and a highly successful acquisition strategy, which is testament to the calibre of its leadership team.”
