Julian Masters brings with him more than nine years’ experience of private equity investment, most recently with European Capital, where he was a founder member and director of the UK buy-out team. Masters began his private equity career with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ transaction services group, and subsequently became a director of Credit Suisse Private Equity/DLJ Merchant Banking ("DLJ"). At DLJ, he was involved in the buy-and-build of Gala Group, the leading UK gaming business. He also had senior roles in the acquisition of Grohe AG, the leading German branded sanitary-ware business, and the acquisition of a significant stake in Safilo SpA, the Italian premium eyewear group, and its subsequent successful IPO.
Tom Shelford joins Bowmark from Nomura Private Equity where he was an associate focusing on mid-market investments in the UK business services sector. He spent the previous six years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, latterly as a manager in corporate finance. He advised on such transactions as the public to private acquisition of SHL, the personnel services group, by HgCapital; the refinancing of RSK Group, an environmental consultancy; and the sale of Alpha Plus, the education group, to Delancey plc.
Bowmark managing partner, Charles Ind, says: "We are delighted to welcome Julian and Tom, whose experience reinforces the skills of our growing investment team, and will support the investment strategy of our latest fund, Bowmark Capital Partners IV."
