Why we invested
Focus Group had achieved strong organic growth by providing cost-effective, integrated solutions across a wide range of products, coupled with service excellence. It also had a strong track record of acquiring and integrating complementary businesses to expand its talent pool, build scale and enhance its product range. This was an opportunity for Bowmark to support the company in accelerating its organic and acquisition-led growth strategy.

The story so far
During Bowmark’s initial four-year investment period, Focus Group more than trebled its revenues, significantly expanded its range of technology solutions, and broadened its coverage across the UK. This was driven by double-digit organic growth, and the completion of 23 acquisitions to support the company’s product and geographic expansion.
This strong growth was underpinned by continued development of the product offering to address the wider digital transformation needs of its customers, as well as investment in the systems and infrastructure to deliver market-leading customer service – including the creation of a new customer portal and advanced data analytics tools.
In 2024, Bowmark reinvested in Focus Group alongside Hg, a leading investor in software and services businesses to support the company’s next stage of growth and the continuation of its successful buy-and-build strategy.
